Cygnet -- New Interface to the Open Multilingual Wordnet Available (2026-04)

OMW Cygnet is an experimental reformulation of Wordnet that is designed to eliminate conflicting records, and improve modularity. It extends the idea of the Open Multilingual Wordnet and puts concepts at the core of the structure.
Developed by Rowan Hall Maudslay and Francis Bond. Source code is available on GitHub.
The lexical data in Cygnet is drawn from a collection of open wordnets covering many languages — see the Wordnets tab for the full list of contributing projects and their licences. We are deeply grateful to every team that has worked to build and freely share these resources. Thanks to all the projects that have released their data openly!
